About Course

This 3-day clinical course is exploring related pelvic pain and dysfunction, tailored for the specific population of pregnant and postpartum women, as well as return to sport postpartum. The course is intended for musculoskeletal physiotherapists as well as pelvic floor education physiotherapists. This is an evidence based, integrated clinical approach, based on symptom modification strategies. The course combines lectures, demonstrations, clinical practice and video based case studies. It is combining manual therapy, exercise and Taping aiming at providing the participants with a wide spectrum of tools in approaching this often neglected population. The course will cover the subjects of Posterior pelvic pain, symphysiolisis / SPD, Femoral acetabular impingement (FAI), transient osteoporosis (TOP) and others

The course is open for both female and male physiotherapists interested in treating pregnancy related pelvic and hip pain. The course dose not teach or requires knowledge in internal/vaginal examination of pelvic floor

Learning goals

  • The participant will be able to understand & treat musculoskeletal pain syndrome of the pregnant and post natal population.
  • The participant will conduct red flag and medical screening of the pregnant and post natal patient
  • The participant will be able to diagnose various pathologies common in the specific population and conduct an integrated approach to treatment combining a variety of manual therapies, active approach and taping.
  • The participant will be able to escort the post natal women back to active life and sports.

Speaker

Adi Amit David – BPT, OMT, WHPT, CMP, Registered Physiotherapist MSK & Women’s Health PT. Adi Amit David – Graduated from Tel Aviv university (1991) and completed her Orthopedic Manual Therapy studies in Curtin University of Technology, Perth Australia (Distinction). Winner of the Brian Eduard’s price of clinical excellence. Adi is both a musculo skeletal (MSK) and Uroginecological (Pelvic floor) educated physiotherapist. Her main interest is Lumbo pelvic girdle pain, and has a vast clinical experience in treating the related population.

Adi was mentored throughout the years by Bob Elvy, Brian Mulligan, LJ Lee, Dian Lee, Mark Oliver, Peter O’Sullivan, Toby Hall, Jenney McConnelle, Chris Powers as well as others. Her work is an integration of the knowledge picked up from them with her original’s materials and over 10 years of clinical experience with this specific population. Adi is working since 1995 in her private practice, Sport & Spine Physiotherapy, Lectured in undergraduate studies both in Tel Aviv & Haifa Universities and today teaches in advanced courses for post graduate physiotherapists.
